Finally made it to the Standard while visiting LA! We didn't realize that the rooftop opens at a certain time but (thankfully) came as soon as it opened. We made it all the way to the top and were told by the employees we needed wristbands. We had to exit the hotel and go through the "back side" to get wristbands and pay cover. It was $20 (cash only) per person which wasn't too bad. It was more of a tacky process if anything. The food was great, the server was really friendly and attentive and service was fast. I'd definite come back here. They just need to be more in tune with one another in terms of knowing what's going on within the hotel. Out of towners like myself, get really disappointed when they can't go grab a drink on the roof and even more so when they're told 4 different times to expect the rooftop to open. Until next time...

Reserved a room for date night in downtown with my girlfriend. When we showed up, Donald checked us in. He was very friendly and informative. He even upgraded our room to one with an amazing view on the 12th floor, a huge bed, and a huge bathtub. It made it difficult to actually leave the room and go out that night. The room was very modern, but the hotel still had some remnants of a past life. Very cool. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and the food was fantastic. Overall, best date night we have had, ever! I highly recommend The Standard in Downtown, as well as Donald for his great customer service. My only suggestion is that you make dinner reservations out in town, as it can be difficult to find a place to eat on the weekends without an hour wait.

Such a cool spot! Ping pong tables available to reserve so friends can play while socializing. Roof top bar offers amazing views! Cozy fireside seating available on main floor. So many options to choose from! Hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous!

Sleek sexy and chic -- The Standard Rooftop Bar had me sold the moment I walked in. I loved the ambiance and the overall setting of the venue. I was lucky enough to visit when the weather was nice so I was able to marvel in the beautiful open space. I duno what I enjoyed more - stargazing or simply being in awe of the skyscrapers and the nightlights of LA. The drinks were stiff and the music was good. There was plenty of seating, both appropriate for large groups or intimate rendezvous. I'm a fan!

Nice hotel, very large rooms, and a REALLY well stocked mini bar (the fridge is full as well as the counter). They have a nice restaurant, which on a Sunday morning is about the only thing open for early risers. Clean and bed is comfy. The hotel has an old flair to it which gives it a cool spin in terms of decor. Would stay again. While the space is large, other than the penthouse would say not kid friendly for the rest of the rooms

My mum and I just stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel staff are very friendly, the rooms are very clean, we had 2 double beds in our room on a little platform, very spacious, very comfy and clean. The safe worked too, and theres a mini bar in the room with a fridge. Room service was great (we never usually use it, but thought we would take advantage of it this time, I ordered the buttermilk pancakes, they were definitely worth the money, very tasty!) The rooftop bar was so cool, a very relaxed environment. Didnt get a chance to use the pool though although it looked nice.

The Standard is a great spot to just chill and have a few drinks with friends. The music isn't the most ideal but I can see why they chose it. It fits the atmosphere of the lounge. There's lots of seating and they have a pool too. I had a great time and will go again. Went on a Sunday and there was no cover.

Very cool experience, nice room and unique vibe. Clean and comfortable. The glass enclosed shower visible to the rest of the room isn't for everyone, but it's a fun effect and experience. The rooftop pool party included with the stay was very unique and fun and offers amazing views both of the city and the stylish crowd staying there.

I ended up checking in to The Standard SUPER late. I had originally booked a large room but was pleasantly surprised to be told that I was upgraded to a 'Gigantic' for free! I was told that there are, "definitely some perks to checking-in a bit late sometimes!" My companion and I went to go check out our room, which was pretty cool. There isn't a door to the bathroom, but rather this VERY see-through curtain, nonetheless the room was nice and provided amenities were sleek and well presented. We then had Dinner at the hotel restaurant which was VERY dimly lit, but the service and food were pretty good. After eating, we proceeded to go and check out the infamous rooftop which was actually super cool! Nice view of the LA city and a very good ambience with the design choices, versatility, and drinks! The biggest pain-point in my opinion was parking. The hotel valet charged $40/night and there is a only one valet at a time in my experience, so in both cases I needed my car it took a little longer than I would have preferred. Otherwise a good stay overall, would recommend!

The rooftop bar had really nice views of downtown, and the staff were very friendly. Even while shuffling us out at 2:00am, they let us hang out in the comfy chairs while we waited for the elevator to take everyone else down. It didn't delay the total time to get everyone out of the establishment for the night, but it made us feel like appreciated guests, and it was a nice touch to end a pleasant evening enjoying their tasty cocktails.
